Featuring a cast of local aboriginal actors, the film follows Ma Na Wei, a young boy who lives a simple life with his grandmother. Ma’s only ambition is to see his father, who’s away working in Taiwan. Meanwhile, ambivalent schoolteacher Yu is inspired to choreograph a performance for the annual Aboriginal Dance Competition. But getting Ma and the local children to perform to their potential requires them to reconnect with their culture and identity. Can Yu and the children find the courage to perform and be true to themselves?
