Raphael, one of the most extraordinary artists of the Renaissance, brought on revolutions in art and architecture alongside Leonardo and Michaelangelo. Considered one of the all-time greats, Raphael’s career is inconceivable without Rome; ever since his arrival in 1508, Rome has also been inconceivable without Raphael.<br><br>To celebrate the life and work of the Italian Renaissance painter and architect, the Scuderie del Quirinale held the most significant exhibition of his works – “Raffaello: 1520-1483”. With over 200 masterpieces loaned from the Louvre, Uffizi, National Gallery of Art and more, it marked the five hundredth anniversary of his death.<br><br>The exhibition offers an unprecedented opportunity to see the breadth of Raphael’s skill, creativity and ingenuity, to which award-winning director Phil Grabsky and his team were granted access.
