Once an elite badminton player renowned for her killer instinct on the court, the fiery Ng Kau-sau has been living aimlessly since her expulsion from the sport a decade ago. She has been holed up in her family’s restaurant, handling daily chores and getting out of shape. One day, Sau is publicly humiliated and beaten up when she encounters Wong Fei-fung, the hottest badminton player at the moment. Just as she is contemplating suicide, Sau meets a quartet of eccentric characters who appear to come straight out of a martial arts novel. Though the quartet used to be notorious robbers a dozen years ago, they turned a new leaf after their release from prison and founded the Lau Dan Badminton Club. After they reacquaint Sau to the glory of the badminton game, she decides to enter an amateur badminton tournament to revive her fighting spirit.
